The private walled salt-water pool, with Jacuzzi, sun-loungers, seating and a bar serving drinks and snacks. There is no pool side furniture, umbrellas etc. in this picture because it was taken in the winter. The water temperature you may expect in the summer months will be between 22° and 30°C.
The local scenery is stunning and very varied. At weekends the area is very popular with Spanish motor cyclists, and racing cyclists. We can understand why! Traffic jams are unheard of and the roads are a pleasure to use. Quiet, uncongested motorways; other roads are normally well surfaced and you can enjoy fast long straights, beautiful sweeping bends and discover the more challenging mountain roads.
Go to one of the many typical Spanish restaurants where you can enjoy a three course lunch with beer, or wine, included for about 9 euros. At one restaurant there is a very good chance you will see the family of wild boar. They are friendly, more scared of you than you are of them!
We have wonderful, very varied sunsets as you can see from these photos
Excellent local fishing on rivers and reservoirs. Mainly trout, barbel, common and mirror carp. If you are interested please let us know well beforehand because you will need a licence and insurance.

FIESTAS - summer is all about fiestas in the Murcia region. These vary from a small village fiesta to the fabulous spectacle of the one at Caravaca de la Cruz where thousands take part in the main parade that lasts literally for hours!
Hilltops is an old finca, probably about 120 years old, tastefully extended a few years ago by the addition of bedrooms on the first floor. The original ground floor retains the typical Murcian feature of curved beamed ceilings, tiled floors and very thick walls to keep the interior temperature down in the summer months. We have made substantial improvements to the property since we purchased it in November 2009 but have retained the charm and character of the old finca.
When viewing these pictures please remember that 2010 will be our first summer in Hilltops so the pictures, having been taken in winter, look a little bare with no flowers in the window boxes and little sign of activity around the pool.
A couple of photos of the main exterior cooking/BBQ area specifically for use by guests.
